It has been awhile since I last updated.   Here's what I've been up to.

Medallion Wedding Cake

I did a wedding cake this weekend for a really fun couple.  Vanessa and Jory wanted a simple cake with sparkle that they could add their own flowers to.  We did a 4 tier round cake.  The bride chose yummy coconut, Oreo, almond raspberry and lemon raspberry as her flavors.  Congratulations Vanessa and Jory!

Sugar Cookies

A friend of mine is working with a music camp this summer and needed some fundraising help.  We thought cookies would be perfect!  She suggested violins and I loved the idea.  I added music notes just for fun.  While I was at it, I made some other cookies just to show you that the possibilities are endless!

13 Layers of Yummy Cake!

Why is it when you are trying to watch those extra calories, you always find a recipe that just has to be tried?!? This recipe consists of a rich butter cake, chocolate glaze and creamy chocolate cream cheese buttercream.  It was exactly what the pictures promised; delicious goodness that was perfect to share with friends.

Clella's 85th Birthday

This week I had the honor of making a cake for my grandmother's 85th birthday.  It's a lot of pressure to come up with a cake celebrating 85 years of accomplishments.  I decided to focus on her favorite color...RED and the fact that she raised 5 children and all the descendants that she has.  I also added a tribute to some of her favorite things.  She selected the flavors: coconut pecan, cream cheese lemon with raspberry, almond raspberry and oreo.  The tiers were 6, 9, 12 and 15 inches.

Craig's 38th Birthday Cake

For Craig's birthday, my sister wanted a cake to celebrate him and what a great guy he is. We came up with a design that made him a star and used words that describe him to decorate it. The layers were Chocolate Oreo, Cinnamon Roll, and Coconut Pecan.  The Coconut Pecan was really special because it is a favorite cake flavor from childhood.  We didn't have the exact recipe but were able to recreate it from Craig's memory. Happy Birthday Craig!
